Finally got my engine in, all attached to my all ally quaife box, ally bell housing, Burton hydraulic clutch and nice lightweight flywheel, Photo - if I can get it uploaded is not me Martin (oldtimer) but my even oldertimer assistant,

yep, is it me or is the engine leaning over

(i only ask as i'm installing a 16v 4age and mine isn't)

it does look a bit like its leaning. in saying that, mine's a vauxhall, but is supposed to lean by 7 degrees when used in RWD, so not a major problem i'd have thought

7 degrees or so I am told is the correct angle - mainly so that the sump base is flat, not ponding to the side.

My 16v 4age is at an angle, dont know what the angle is, but it keeps the sump flat. Was RAW engine mounts...

great so now my engine mounts are wrong, and more annoyingly RAW told me that his mounts wouldn't fit my chassis!!!

Basically fitted to Corolla's only available in Japan and possibly South Africa. Some sporty models but lots appear from cars with autos.

Oldtimer,

I would be interested in a few more details on the parts breakdown for the hydraulic clutch (as would others I'm sure). I've been meaning to do this for a while though I have little room for another master cylinder.

The Burton race hydraulic clutch came with the original 4age 16v I got. Don't really know too much about it. The oil acts against a thin sleeve around the shaft, there are then various fitments available for different clutches - I really know no more myself and just hope it all works - Burton were not a mine of information about it when I asked.

Oh yes - 4agze now in my garage, didn't realize it was so bulky/heavy till I had to get it out of my car Justin!

Yep the engine crane made it real easy my end!

Once you've removed the denso blower and all that pig iron bracketry it'll be a breeze to move in comparison.
