Hello,
When i was painting my diff all the oil leaked out. Now that wasn't a problem but i'm now at the stage of mounting the rear axles and i
don't now how much oil the diff needs. It's a standard Sierra diff. And what kind of oil does it need. Is Transmission oil also oké ?

it will take about 1 litre of ep80/90 oil, when it,s mounted just fill till it comes out the filler plug and thats it
0.8 or 0.9ltr depending on model from dry or 10mm below filler hole otherwise. Oil grade is hypoid sae90ep.

just did mine - took 0.9 litres before it started to dribble out of the filler hole.
incidently, I drained my diff of the old oil using a marine oil change pump I bought from the local marina supplies. Easiest way I have ever found of
removing the oil from a diff or gearbox. Pump was £7, image below.
