Hi, has anyone fitted a 1800 cvh head to a 1800 zetec bottom end, just keeping my options open for engine upgrade, seems to be a short supply of pre 95 zetec engines in my area, any info greatly appreciated

That would not be an upgrade.

You would be better with an early hemi head if doing a zvh.

Better still to use the zetec head.

If you filled in your profile and told us what area you're in, you might get a bit of help

But, I wouldn't have thought bolting any cvh parts to a Zetec could be classed as an "upgrade"

Location................

here you go 93~94 1.8 zetec for less than £50

zvh is a waste of energy

Its a bodge that works but will drive you nutz with reliability stakes....cvh is more of a boat anchor than a pinto

An 1800 CVH is perfectly good enough to start with and makes IVA easy. Assuming it is a carb engine then fuel and ignition are all sorted.

Once passed, upgrade to a Zetec. That way you can fit a Zetec as new as you like with bike carbs and megajolt or TBs and megasuirt.

The upgrade from a 1.8 cvh to Zetec is pretty straightforward.

I had a 1.8cvh in mine to start with and it went well enough, and weight is similar to a Zetec.
