What is in your opinion a reasonable asking price from a scrappy for a Zetec engine-wireloom (just the loom for the engine, not the one for the car), and a 1.8 flywheel!?!?!

I'm offered engine looms for 80-160 pounds!!!! These things aren't made from gold I pressume?

For the flywheel I have to pay 85 pounds.

It's all a bit steep in my opinion, or am I just not into touch with reality?!?! What is a realistic price I can offer them for these parts!?!?!

You must live in a rich are, our local scrappy charges by size and shineyness!

Anything smaller than a caliper is £3, and go up in £5 increments after that, upto a staggering £60 for an engine.

a place near me starts out with 66 ukp for an engine , even escy II xflow just haggle with him to get it down

Been quoted £35 for a 1.8 flywheel, loom came 'free' with the 2.0l zetec (£350). Having trolled around this site and others it seems using the original zetec loom / injection is fraught with diffficulty so I will be going for an after market throttle body injection system so I may be able to help you with the loom.

Making an engine loom from scratch is not too tricky. Just 1 or 2 wires from each sensor, and 2 from each injector. Most go back to ECU. Worth routing thru a multi connector in the engine bay so it can be disconnected from the main loom easy if engine is removed and also makes tracing any faults easier if the ECU has been mounted on "dry" side of the bulkhead.

Went to some scrappies today, and found the right flywheel; cost me 27 pounds. And found an almost complete Zetec 2.0 wireloom, which I could take with me for 14 pounds. Soooooo, that's arranged.

Using the standard plenum seems a good idea. What kind of fuelling system will you use (halltech, DTA, emerald?)

Give me a shout if you need help setting the system up (it's my job)

Standard Ford stuff I hope... Budget is drying up currently! But I might need your help, as I've got absolutely NO knowledge at all on car engines.
