gearbox rear oil seal

Hi all,

I've got a real problem on my hands . I have a T5 gearbox with a worn rear oil seal (the one the prop shaft seals to).
Fords no longer supply the seal, I've rang various bearing companies with no success. My problem is, as I do not have the prop shaft yet, I cannot give sizes to the bearing companies. I have the numbers on the seals, but nobody seems to be able to cross reference them (its a National seal with two sets of numbers; 324152R and S10125-1-6).
Removing the seal will wreck it, so until I can be confident of getting a replacement Iam reluctant to do that.

Does anybody know a supplier that specialises in automotive oil seals? or better still, what seals are suitable.

What would be a help is if anybody can give me the outside diameter of the sierra prop shaft at the gearbox end. The T5 comes from a Sierra Cosworth I believe. I'm hoping that all Sierra props are standard sizes at the gearbox end.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Cheers,

Dave

Burton Power sell rear oil seals for the T5 box, part number GBT5702.

Cost £7.29+vat+postage.

Look Here gearbox spares in the transmisson section.

All the best Dan.

Thanks very much Dan, you're a star

I see they also do rebuild kits for the T5,
could come in very handy.

All the best Dave.
