RV8 Fuel Pump and line options
Irony - 22/6/10 at 10:28 PM

I am starting to think about the fueling system in my RV8 Viento/Webber 500 build. I have a few questions:

1. What's the minimum thickness fuel hose i should use?
2. What fuel pumps have you more experienced V8 builders used and what are your thoughts?
3. What fuel pressure suits the webber?

Thanks in advance

Following from when I had SU's

I'd suggest a minimum 8mm id for the fuel line (though I'm sure I've heard of 10mm).

Pressure with a carb I doubt would need to be more than 4 - 5 psi and as for fuel pump, I used a facet solid state thingy.

I've got a Carter pump with 10mm pipe on mine and it seems to work well with twin SU carbs. No return pipes as the pump is self regulating.

I use 8mm hose, and I've still got my LP rattling away feeding my surge tank for the EFI bits. On it's own it fed my carbs fine. I believe it is a Facet pump.

As Flak Monkey Says... 8mm Pipe will deliver enough fuel for well over 300bhp.

I have 8mm pipe and 200bhp and a Webber 500 on my V8 and it works fine for me.
