I'm looking for a company to supply me radiator hose. I don't care about it having "SAMCO" printed on it or choice of colours
or made of special glow in the dark material etc. etc. etc.
Some where I must be able to buy lengths (over 1 meter) of plain black hose in 28mm & 32mm Internal Diameter, reducers/joiners and bends. I
doesn't need to be reinforced as its low pressure as long as it can handle water at 100 Dec C.
OK I can by SAMCO or any other well know brand at crazy prices.
But there must be a locost option. Someone suggested cutting up old hoses from a scrape dealer but the runs i've got to do are long so I would
need a joint every 6"
i dunno about specific bends etc, i've never seen somewhere selling them cheap, but that vulcoflex stuff is good for three reasons. Its long,
very bendy, and can have different sized ends. Plus its not too expensive, and easy to find, either halfords or online. Thats 5 reasons actually...
I needed a short bit of 35mm hose. I went to my local (to work in milton keynes) biggish spares place, and they could sell me 1mtr straight
lengths...... for about 20 quid. A bit steep when I only needed about 100mm. Even a granada hose (which I knew was right size) was about 18 quid! So
I got one from a scrappy.....
so, you can buy, at a price, std black hose.
You can also buy, from halfords, flexy hoses of around 400mm long. These are neat - and can also be bought in different end diameters.

What are you connecting the engine to. I got some from the local spares shop for under a tenner, 32mm i.d. I only used a foot of it so there's 2 ft left. I used the convoluted stuff first but it cracks on the bends after so long (clouds of steam in Worksop) very inconvenient.
we consider the best hose supplier to be Hose Direct - link on our website in 'links'. They have millions of metres of al types of hose and have silicon (before they stamp SAMCO on it!) hose in many colours.
I notice that you are new Aberdeen, try a trawler chandler, sounds stupid but they stock almost everything in any size intended for big marine diesels, they also do exhaust lagging at a 1/10 of the price of the racing.com places charge

why not run a length of tubing with flexy each end? straight pipe doesnt bend that well.
I used std plain steel tubing for a long strait run. Thats what jag did on some of the plumbing on the XJ-S and it lasts 15 years or so cos of the
lack of air in the water, and the anti corrosion properties of anti freeze.

Have you considered using a pipe with short lengths of hose at each end?
Beware that the suction side should have a wire coil in it to prevent collapse under high revs.
A nice length of copper, or stainless is more durable, and attractive.
On the longest run on our BEC (from radiator to engine rear - near bulkhead) we used a piece of television ariel mast. It's 25mm diameter and has
even got a 90degree bend in it! It is made from substantial wall thickness aluminium so is light and corrosion resistant. It would also act as a
cooling rack to disperse some of that heat!

I hadn't really considered a length of tubing. I had thought about hard piping it but had thought of doing it all in hard tubing not just
the straight bit. I of course had dismissed this as DAFT.

Mad, if you measure the length you need I'll make up a 32mm OD aluminium alloy pipe with correct hose flares each end.
If you don't need an exact size I can measure my surplus powder coated (red) ones and let you know what lengths I have in supply
