hi all. my exhaust is too hot, and too close to stuff, so i intend to use some of that heat shield wrap. anyone know offhand of a good cheap source? and if anyone has used it, is it any good at muffling small holes?!

just one of the small tasks left that i feel able to do... the rest can wait.

i had to wrap mine for sva retest- failed first time due to proximity of exhaust to glassfibre side panel with 'insufficient heat protection'. got it from demon twats as i was in a hurry!

Industrial insulation, such as for pipe work and furnaces should be a cheap source.

Motorsport = big money
Industrial = cheaper.

Joel - the proven products stuff is pretty good - I have dealt with them in the past and they are a decent bunch of guys. First got some for a friends Mk2 Escort rally car with big under bonnet heat problems and did the trick - lasted well too.

well, i eventually got round to ordering a long roll off the proven products guys, it arrived and my exhaust is now snugly covered up. However, im wondering how to finish it. Tucking it in isnt perminant enough, and a piece of stiff wire twisted on will be too messy. Does anyone have any ideas? To clarify, its the woven stuff that looks like glass fibres. Thanks in advance!

no tywraps unfortunately, but i suppose a few well positioned jubilees will do. Some of it is outside the car though, to protect the wheel from heat, and i wanna stop this getting smegged up.
