These bearings seem to be the way forward - have you got the part number? Going to replace my current arrangement for one of these.

100% better than the one off the donor car!

hope that helps.

SBPFL205-16 Oval 2 Bolt Pressed Steel Bearing Housing with 1 inch insert = SLFL1

looking forward to installing it and getting my steering fully working.

i do like this one as well as this maybe better for mounting to the chassis but the other is the direct replacement for the Ford one.

ill upload photos when installed.

Why does you steering not work with the normal bushed setup? Ok they wear eventually but have you felt the weight difference? Are you the angles all wrong on your column or something? I don't understand why it requires a big heavy bearing just to "work"?

Interesting site ! Do you know they also supply bearing kits for sierra wheel hubs ?

In my day that was a kart rear axle bearing circa 1970's

A lot of people have had binding problems with the Sierra setup, and in some cases stopped the steering self centering
The bearing is 25mm, not that heavy, and it does make the steering a lot lighter and smoother.
