Tidy Engine Bay
greggors84 - 23/6/04 at 01:55 AM

Whats the best way of keeping the engine bay looking tidy? When everything is plugged into the loom, it looks messy and there are lots of thin wires going everywhere and they are too spaced apart to group them together. Do i need to protect these wires somehow for SVA?

Thanks

wires must be loomed up to a standard comparable to a production car, and secured. not sure how that applies to single wires.

if its a case that the loom goes along the side of the tunnel and the thin wires go to the engine for the efi then why not make the wires go along the engine. thats howmy mr2 engine was done, the loom circled the engine head and the one set of wires is all that leaves the engine.

That's what I'm planning Fin, keeps all the wiring neat.

All the best Dan.

That method is easy to do with a length of split conduit, problem is you need spare length in the loom to do it once all the wires are ready. Just run the wires round and drop each out and terminate as it passes its connection.
