So for a zetec silvertop on twin 40's, what should i be looking for?
i know nothing about fuel pumps.....
I'm not interested in getting a flash shiney mega pump, just something cheap and cheerful that does the job, is an ebay special worth getting, or
better off with an old rusty 2nd hand job?
You want a low presure pump somthing around 2psi.
I would go for a 1000cc ish carbed bike pump on the cheap or webcon sell a huco pump for the webers at around £45 It works great, I have had two.
Check them out on ebay.
I wouldnt bother with a higher presure pump and regulator. Its more to play up and the extra bits add up in cost.
yeh i figured a regulator wouldnt be necessary, just wasn't sure on the pump....
have seen the huco mentioned... might check it out.... are there any other specific ones i could look for?
or one of those Facet pumps for carbs, slightly higher pressure than the bike ones.
something like Facet Solid State Replacement Fuel Pump 4.5 - 7 PSI on eBay (end time 21-Jan-11 14:34:10 GMT) but I would
say that you should have a regulator too.

The pump in Tul214's link is the same one im using as my main pump, and worked fine with the twin 40's
and i did not use a regulator!
I also use an austin mini pump for the reserve portion of the tank, but that was not man enough to fill the 40's at anything over half
throttle
