OK, call me stupid if you like
But how should it be mounted?
Have a look at the pic and tell me what´s wrong. Should the nuts be on either side of the bracket to the gearbox?
The problem with that is that the nut doesn´t go over the stop at the end of the clutchcable.
thats how it goes

sometimes i wonder about you james
Is there any disadvantage to the way I've done it?
I wonder if it might be better as it means the cable can't come adrift of the bellhousing.
Cheers,
James
Mine's like the picture. Just make sure you can't lift the clutch pedal and take up all the slack or the nipple can come out of the clutch operating arm.

What most of you and most mechanics seem to forget, is that their is also supposed to be a (sort of) Y shaped rubber grommet that fits over/round the
cable at the nipple end and rides between the release arm and the nipple. Most mechanics when changing the clutch either threw them away, forgot about
them, or just didn't realise that they were supposed to be there because they had worn/perished away. To my knowledge FORD still make and supply
the (part number unknown but used to cost about 60p) grommet and they were fitted to the Cortina/Granada/Capri/Sierra ranges.
They extended clutch life and cushioned/extended the cable life, And slightly adjusted clutch pedal ride height/bite point.
Cable looks fine and everything will be held in place by tension when fitted together.
Hope this helps.
Enjoy.
I have mine fitted as in the picture. But it seems a bit loose. Even when the clutch pedal is depressed the cable can still move about abit. Where are the best places to mount the cable? As i have funny angles where the cable comes through the bulkhead and where it goes through the hole on on the engine.
