C20xe adjustment
stevegough - 30/4/11 at 10:39 AM

At my IVA test, the tester said my engine was running 'lean' and showed me a blanking plug on the side of the air mass meter, said there was an adjustment screw underneath to adjust the mixture - anyone know how to use it? - ie to make the mixture richer, prise out the plug, then turn the screw clockwise? - Do I need to refit the blanking plug?

My engine is running exactly as it was in the Calibra, ie standard injection, manifold and Motronic ECU.
The engine seems to run well, but tends to missfire a little on hard acceleration - could running lean cause this?

Lots of questions in one post, I know, but theres lots of experts out there!

Thanks in advance, guys!

Lean running could cause your missfire ( aswell as a few other things tbh )

Would be worth getting a CO meter on it if you are going to adjust the mixture though as Too Rich a Mixture can cause problems aswell

CO on the IVA test was 0.24 as I remember - the limit for my car was 3.5.
