I own a 1.8cvh sierra sapphire n also have a spare 1.8cvh engine and was wondering whats needed to do a zetec conversion im not shy to getting my hand dirtys just fancy sumit with a bit more go than the gutlless 1.8cvh i know this aint the ford forum but you guys use all the same stuff so just wanted to get some info
I guess there is quite a bit to consider.
Zetec's are for front wheel drive cars so adding an engine mount to the nearside is one simple thing that needs doing.
Under the bonnet of the Sierra you could probably fit all the inlet system so if you obtain all the fuel injection system and ECU that goes with it
that is one less thing to consider.
Do a search looking for Zetec to type 9 and you will get most of the answers to deal with Silvertops and Blacktops of both 1.8 and 2.0 litre.
mainly around flywheels and clutch changes that need to be done.
In the Sierra you can use standard depth oil pans so that is a bit easier. The other option rather then fuel injection is to change over to bike
carbs and fit a Megajolt system.
There are lots of things to consider and many answers will be found within the many posts on the subject, just need to consider you have more space
then most.
I am slowly working on changes from to a 1.8 silvertop Zetec and trying to keep to EFI systems. Many have done similar.

CVH exhaust manifold can be made to fit with a bit of drilling and tapping.
But is it worth the effort ? Easier to find a 2litre DOHC Sierra
How far do you want to go
CVH mounts can be made to fit the Zetec in. Stat housing will fit, just. CVH sump can be bodged to fit the zetec.
Its almost the same as fitting one into a mk1 or 2 escort but with more room. See http://www.retro-ford.co.uk/shop/
