I've started stripping the car down that I bought a few weeks ago to make it how I want it, and I was wondering about the zetec fuel system.
The car has a 2.0l zetec silvertop, gsxr throttle bodies and megasquirt. The fuel tank at the minute has got a Ford sender unit and pump combined, but
on inspection today, there is a crack in the weld from the pipe to the unit top, and fuel is leaking from there.
The unit is currently mounted in the top of the tank, but I'm just wondering, do I need a pump from the tank? There's another pump fitted in
the boot right next to the tank, do I need them both?
Basically, does anyone have any idea what I need to replace the current system? It may sound a bit pointless, but the car is a bit of a mess, so I
want to make sure it's done properly.

Depends on the tank.
If yopu have a flat bottomed tank you really will want a lift pump to a swirl pot to a high presure pump.
The pic in your other post looks like a hacked about high presure pump. That wouldnt be ideal to feed a swirl pot. Sounds a bit strange with the other
pump. It hasnt been left there from the change to efi has it ?
Any pics of the set up ?
If the tank has a sump or is well baffled you may get away with just one high presure pump.

Thanks for the reply, the tank is flat bottomed and also has a baffle.
This is the second pump, its also at the back of the car, pretty much right next to the tank...
So the sender unit in my other post is in the tank, with a pump attached, then out of the tank into the pump above, and then down the trans tunnel.

Hang on a second... thats not a pump is it? It's a filer??? Confused.com! remind me not to jump in on posts again!
So if thats a filter, what pump can i fit to the tank rather than the bodge on the other post?

Your options will depend on your tank. If you have no bottom outlets then you will need another intank high presure pump but you will get starvation problems if its not well baffled.
So if i was to seal the hole in the top of the tank, where would I stand then with components and the like?
