whats one weigh as it came out of the mondeo??
engine and box together
dave
According to my information the duratec is 18kg less than a zetec.
I weighed my zetec complete with starter, cast iron exhaust manifold and inlet manifold, alternator, clutch, gearbox and mondeo driveshafts at 186kg,
so a duratec should be 166kg. The standard starter/manifolds/alternator and especially drive shafts are all pretty heavy though. I recon you could
take off at least another 10kg if you source smaller/lighter replacements.
Regards
Hugh
so if i split the engine and box it should be 2 man liftable into a van then ?
no driveshafts,
what holds them together ? normal bolts or silly torks
I managed to man handle my2.0 duratec out the boot of my car on my own but without the gearbox attached......So two people lifting the engine and
gearbox should be no problem.
so long as your not build like the little guy off the old mr muscle adverts that is
A zetec is an easy two man lift with a bit of wood so a duratec should be a breeze
