I'm looking at a rwd Duratec installation, I know a 2.0 is in order but is there a specific one engine better than others, ie from a particular
donor or will any Mondeo or Focus motor do equally well?
Also don't really want to go to the expense of throttle bodies at the moment is anyone running bike carbs with success?
Im going to have a decent 1.8 duratec for sale if your interested???
ST 150 is a little bit simpler than the others - it has the EGR valve blanked off and a single mass flywheel already.
The others have EGR valves and dualmass flywheels.
The injector ports are formed into the head casting and will need blanking off, however if you going to IVA then throttle bodies and injection to meet
emission rules would be easier.
We run ZX9R bike carbs on our 2.3 Duratec. I'm sure the Jenvey devotees will scof but it absolutely flies and is amazingly driveable running a
modest 190bhp.
Saved us a fortune on the conversion from 40'd Pinto to Duratec. Of course we do have a set of hyabusa bodies tucked away for a rainy day
Which vehicle is the 2.3 Duratec found in ?
Think its mainly american fords but the big ford pickup has them in but most people bore out the cylinders and by forged or the uprated 2.3 or so im told on the ford n fiesta forums.
