IIRC you can get fwd, rwd or awd. And they fitted them to Freelanders so chances are you'll find something to do the job!
Dunno how much fun it will be when you try to get it to run as all the injection bits need coding.

Only the smaller transits are FWD. If you look at the 350, they are all RWDs.

Land Rover Defenders have the TDCi Puma engines.. 6 gears, just like a BEC. (not quite..) Not sure how you'd work around the transfer box though. At least it means that there's a longitudinal sump/exhaust and inlet manifolds available!

What's the TDCi block based on?
