CVH Sump Mods & Baffles

Has anyone modified and baffled a 1600 CVH sump? I could do with some help.

Cheers,

Chris

I hate to beg, but please, please, please, PLEASE! Someone help me.

Surrey Dave has used an 1800 so a u2u to him may help.

Are you sure you need baffling? If the engine's from a RWD car anyway (ie. Sierra) then it probably already is as baffled as it needs to be I'd have thought. If it's from a FWD car then perhaps fitting the sump from a Sierra would work.

Sorry I can't help more- I've used a Pinto. I know that that only has the one baffle even the 2.0.

Atb,

James

Cheers James. It's from an Escort so FWD. Have posed the 1600 Sierra sump question before, but didn't really get an answer. Looking at the diagrams in the respective Haynes manuals the illustrations look different, but they don't seem to list the CVH engine capacities so different sized engines may have slightly different sumps. Does anyone out there know?

Thanks for the info Mat. I was intending to do the mods myself. Just wanted an experience mind to point me in the right direction. Tips and photos, that sort of thing. Thanks again though.

You can have my mates 1.8 cvh for £20 complete if you want to try mix and match. You'll have to fetch it though it's too heavy to post.

Cheers Pete. Prolly a bit of a way to go though.

There a 1.8 CV under the bench up here - neeks the followers put back on the head. Had all the valves ground and new head gasket etc. You can take it a away if you want it. (Goes for anyone else as well)

NOTE I'm am in SCOTLAND!!!
