Im losing the wil to live when it cones to the pinto in my kit. I can't get it to start and I don't know why. I thought maybe it was
ignition timing was out so removed the distributor to get a better look out how things lined up and now when putting it back in the retaining bolt
doesn't hold it on place. So it is I am having to admit I am beyond my ability to 'learn as I go' and need help.
If a local member with better knowledge could spare me some time to have a look I would be eternally grateful and supply as much tea as you can
drink. Unfortunately I can't offer more than that at the moment what with Christmas and a wedding to pay for in march.
I know should probably get on with other bits that need doing but I can't help but feel if the engine doesn't work than I am wasting my time
at the moment. Have to say when I bought this kit I really never thought it would get to this point, especially so soon. Just glad that the rest of
the work is things I am more familiar with and/or have people I know on to hand to help.
I have determined that this engine is, to put it nicely, past it's best. Cambelt fell shredded as it was removed, no excessive force was used and the head studs are all massively over tightened. As such it's coming out and will replace it probably with another pinto for simplicity and cost, though I am considering more interesting options I'd rather just get if running first.
