Looks like I may have to remove the box as well to get the zetec out, how far forward does the zetec have to move forward? Is there normally enough
room in a fury to leave the box in?
Steering rack , starter , alternator etc is all off .
to slip the engine off of my box (ok, vauxhall and type 9) needs about 3-4" to get the input shaft out the clutch plate. can't imagine yours would be much different to that
Don't know about the Zetec, but when my engine is due to come out my plan is
1 Remove bonnet
2 (maybe) remove rad
3 connect crane
4 disconnect prop
5 disconnect gearbox mount
6 disconnect engine mounts
7 pull engine/bellhousing/gearbox out at about a 45 degree angle
8 cup of tea.
9. Collect knuckles from chassis
10. Swear lots as the pain kicks in
11. Realise you hit the rad wi th the engine whilst trying to get it at 45 degrees
12. Swear some more
13. Have a cup of brandy!
