will a 1.4/1.6CVH sump fit a 1.8CVH?
Bluemoon - 16/1/12 at 02:49 PM

I all looking to get a new 1.8 CVH sump (to chop) and having difficulty getting one, any one know if a 1.4/1.6CVH Engine Oil Sump will fit (these are readly avaliable via e-bay for about £32 new...)..

Cheers

I assume you mean to fit to a Zetec bottom end?

Don't think so, hence the rarity and desirability of the 1.8.

I think the 1.8 sumps are different, but only because I've heard of 1.8 sumps being used for Zetecs as they are easy to chop, but I have never heard of anyone doing this with a 1.6 sump.

Isnt it because the 1.8 CVH is rear drive where as all the lower CVH engines are from FWD car?

Not seen any one try

No to fit the 1.8CVH.... Don't care about baffle plates etc as will modify for shortened pick-up.. I suspect it may fit but then again maybe something major is different with the bottom of the block on a 1.8 engine...

Yes but can't see that being a problem for me as no cross member ect to clear and modifying sump any how???

O.k above is from a none 1.8CVH looks like the pickup is at the front so the bump is at the "wrong" end??? Not a show stopper with a sump chop...

I wonder if a 2 part sump from a Blacktop Zetec would fit? The lower part is easy to shorten.
