I've got some ZX6r carbs on my car. These are fitted to a tubular aluminium manifold with silicone hoses. I noticed today that I got some popping
back through the carbs and on investigation I have found that carbs 3 and 4 seem to be pulling out of the silicone hose (which itself doesn't
look very happy!)
I've got stay bars on the bottom of the carbs to stop them popping off but they obviously aren't working so I'm looking at how to
actually secure the 'rubbers' themselves.
Has anyone used the actual rubbers from a ZX6r but cut the flange off?
I had the same problem try some rough wet & dry around the manifold to gave the silicone something to grip failing that weld a lip around the tip of each tube to stop them pulling off much like a colant pipe flange.
Silicon is not fuel resistant unless it's the fluro lined stuff.
A raised bead or a wide groove for the clip to pull into might help.

gpz900r rubbers fit perfectly ..No flange bits either.
They are on ebay but a bike breaker should do them for a lot less

Hi guys
Sorry I should probably have made myself clearer. The silicone is not pulling off the tube - I put a lip around the tubes with a beading tool. THe
problem I have is the actual carbs themselves pulling out of the silicone tubing.
Stu, do you just have a clamp (jubilee clip) around the carb end and enother around the tube down by the flange ?
Cheers
Dave

I had this problem and fitted stay bars and a dab of super glue on each side. Solved the problem.
