Pinto plumbing again

Now I have sorted out where all the hoses should go, and now fitted them all, I am very pleased with them all except the bottom rad to pump. I have a book chassis and cannot find a route for the hose where it does not touch the chassis at some point.

How have you done it? Rescued attachment Plumbing1.jpg

mine touches the chassis in several places, and thats with a few feet of space to play with! i'll check for chaffing regularily, aside from that it should be ok.

I'm not sure what the SVA position is regarding hoses, I might make up some bit stainless P clips to make it look like I intended them that way! Rescued attachment P clip.jpg

Hmmm, Mark that engine bay looks familiar! I'm doing the same bit with mine now.

Mine touches the steering rack where it comes over it- don't know how else to protect it.

In terms of SVA- if touching the chassis any worse than touching the inside of a 'P' clip?

Cheers,

James

P.S. How'd you do that massive 'P' clip?

My bottom hose touches the chassis at the 90 deg bend then touches the steeering rack where it goes inbetween rack and chassis.

I had the missfortune of having my SVA when the guy testing my car was being examined by the area inspector neither made anything of it touching anywhere.

how about welding on a small curved piece of metal ( maybe a bit of steel tubing cut in half along it's length ) - If you follow my drift!

this would effectively cup the hose and should prevent chaffing
