chopped sump

have a chopped sump on my ford 2.0 dohc (sierra) for clearance. is there anything i can do to replace the oil capacity i have lost.

i am worried the engine may not have enough as the dipstick is irrelevant now.

cheers

the normal route is to make it wider, by adding wings,.. other than that, change to a remote oil filter and use very long hoses

+1

Sometimes it is possible to extend over the shallow part of the sump to allow increased capacity.

Your dipstick is still VERY relevant, it has the maximum mark on it.
Many engines do not like to be filled above the maximum mark, don't be tempted to stick an extra .5 to 1 litre of oil in to compensate for the reduced capacity of oil, likely to cause no end of problems

Have a look on this site RHOCaR
It shows you what to do and how to extend your oil capacity.

If starvation of oil is your concern then fit an accusump.

It will increase capacity and greatly reduce the chance of oil pressure drop.
