hello guys,
is there someone who knows about a bell housing to marry a Renault engine (type "F" like the F7P, F7R or F4R) with a ford type 9 gearbox ?
or with a renault "UN" gearbox ?
Because, here in France, it's very easy to find some Renault engines and parts, compares to a Ford engine.
The sierra are more rare here than in the UK, i have purchased a type9 gearbox for 120 € (approx 100GBP) and a complete XR4I for 500€ (approx 390GBP).
I have saw that it is cheaper in the UK, than here.
We have here a lot of 2.3 and 1.8 diesel sierra, but petrols models are not so easy to find...

Hi - looks like someone has mated and F7p to a Volvo box here...

Should be possible, my concerns would be if the engine were designed to run at a slant.
You'd need to make up an adapter plate to fit between the engine and box, sort out a clutch solution and look at how the Type 9 input shaft could
be supported by a suitable spigot bearing.
What is you application a standard seven layout?
A UN box is usually used in a mid engined car behind the engine to drive the rear wheels.
