I'm currently upgrading the fuel system on my Tiger Super6, it has a 1.8 Zetec with Weber DCOE 45s and Piper fast road cams. I'm adding a
sump onto the fuel tank to stop air being pulled through when the fuel level is less that half and taking long left hand bends, I've also bought
a filter king to replace the rubbish inline fuel filter that is currently on it.
The thing that I'm struggling to decide is if it is worth upgrading to a Facet silver top fuel pump over just getting a replacement Solid State
one? I can see the silver top has a much higher flow but is it worth paying nearly double over the Solid State pump? Will it make that much difference
to a car that goes on a track, at a maximum, two times a year and is driven on the local b-roads the rest of the time?
thanks
Mike
I dont know the answer but Iv got one 3.5-5psi I think that you could have at a very reasonable price
If you are only getting loss of power in long left hand bends with a half tank there is nothing wrong with your existing pump or filter, fitting a
sump to the tank should be sufficient. Alternative there is nothing to stop you fitting a second pump and swirl pot even with carbs
Filter Kings always make me wince, I don't like shut off (as opposed to bleed off) regulators and the Filter King design is full of restrictive
right angle bends.
