Duratec oil

Hi all

Another question for the guys fitting/fitted a duratec to their cars

I have the raceline oil filter adapter, and am looking to fit an oil pressure sensor with 1/8 npt thread

The raceline adapter doesnt seem to have the same thread as the original pressure switch either.

What have other done to fit a pressure switch and sensor to their Duratecs?

Thanks

Patrick

I used an adaptor M12 to 1/8" IIRC which I purchased from ETB along with the digidash.

Thanks Neilp1

Did you bother fitting a oil sender to control the light on the dash or did you just go with the oil pressure gauge?

The thread is 12mm x 1.5, I bought a pressure switch for a Lotus Elise which had a higher pressure switching point to give earlier warning and an adapter.

Was is this one like this you fitted?

LOTUS ELISE S1 111S VVC/MGF 1.8 VVC OIL PRESSURE SWITCH | eBay

Do you know what pressure the switch operates at as Ive read that the duratec has a low idle pressure....Obviously wouldnt want the light to be on when the engine is idling

Many thanks for your help

Patrick

im also considering one of these

oil light switch

given the option of 15psi and 25psi

which should i go for?

big-vee-twin - 25/4/12 at 11:41 AM

A standard one is rated at around 5-7 psi, the Elise one I have is rated at around 20psi if I remember correctly and does extinguish the light when ticking over.

Trying to find the details of the switch now.

The operating pressure of mine is 13PSI but I cant find where I got it from, that 15PSI one would do the same job.
