OK, I have bought a Polo radiator for my Dax Rush.
But the radiator is too wide for the location unless it is on its side.
Would it still work or is the orientation important to its design?
Do I have to bite the bullet and spend 300 on a Dax radiator?
There are many polo rads, have you the smallest?
There are indeed, and the small ones really quite small.
You can flip them top-bottom and left-right for sure but but rotating through 90 depends on the radiator. It would most likely work fine as long as
the inlet and outlet are in opersite sides (which then become top and bottom) but clearly not so clever if it started out with both inlet and outlet
at the same side, which then means there both either at the bottom (not great) or top (really bad).

The polo rads come in either 380mm or 430mm widths (measured across the core). Make sure you have the small one which is whats commonly used on
7's.
It wouldn't work well rotated 90'.
I have thought about this in the past and came to the conclusion that as long as there is no air in the system it doesn't matter what orientation
the rad is in as the flow is evenly divided across the core.

Just measured mine and it is the wider 430 mm one.
Surely if the orientation of the rad is wrong the coolant won't go through the core just straight out the outlet pipe?
p.s. is the 380 mm one able to cool a 160 bhp zetec ok?

Yes the smaller one cools a 2 litre zetec without any problems.The water would not go straight through as there is a baffle in the middle of the
header tank and so the water flow is through half the core and then returns through the opposite half to the header tank.
