Would like to add fuel injection to my Chevy 383 motor.
Am thinking of using this cross ram manifold with injectors added in a row to the top of the valley between runners and then something like 100 mm
Long X 50mm Diam ram tubes into two plenums strong enough to withstand full engine vacuum, fed by 2 X 75+mm throttle bodies sucking cold air from
somewhere suitable.
I would use individual throttle bodies if I could get some around 48 - 50 mm Diameter second hand for a good price, but that might be real hard to do
here in SA (need 8) and anyway linkage gets real complicated. I don't think I will lose much power anyway and will not notice any torque or
response differences between the two systems.
A check on two engine modelling programs shows an approximately 20% power gain over a two plane manifold with Holley Carb, plus I believe I might get
some significant fuel savings at normal cruising speeds (Under 2000 RPM), That should see me well over 500 BHP
Any thoughts or guidance would be welcome.
Manifolds like that originaly were designed for the Corvette Grand Sports with 50mm Side draft Webers. The manifold was designed by Zora Arkus Duntov.
