Is this radiator overkill?
derf - 7/9/04 at 08:28 PM

This radiator is slightly thinner (1.5 inches) than the one I bought which is 2.5 inches thick, same height and length. Completely aluminum. It needs to support a non turbo 13b, did I go overboard when I got the thicker model? And yes it will fit in the nosecone, if I angle it, alot.

With the rotary I would think overheating is the last thing you need. Are you using the standard oil cooler that comes supplied with the egg beater. Zoom Zoom.

no I dont have an oil cooler anymore the 2 Ive had so far are leaky.

It's easier to blank off a large rad than it is to extend one that is too small!

As long as you have a thermostat fitted, it should not make any difference, except your fan will not cut in so often.

You used to be able to get little venetian blinds to go on the outside of the radiator which were adjustable from the inside - might be worth looking into

my 3 month old beemer 320d has got vacuum solenoid operated blinds behind the rad! Dunno if my old 318 had same, I never looked.
