The cam on my car is worn, due to bad lubrication down to a two partially blocked holes in the spray bar. How long should it take to fit a new Kent Cam kit?

I'd be disappointed if I couldn't do one in a couple of hours. Maybe a bit longer if the head has to come off if access is poor.

I'd guess a couple of hours and adjust the valve clearances (never timed myself when I did mine)
might take a bit longer to set the timing properly if you've got a vernier pulley (i.e. find true T.D.C. then set the cam from there)


and you can go on to check the amount of lift and the timing of it is what the cam maker claims its etc.....

Is that based on if all the bolts come out without breaking etc?

I hope they all come out ok. I think they will as its not been in the engine long from what I can gather. Saying that I was told the car was quote "this is ready to be enjoyed and needs nothing spending on it" the repair bill is already over £300 without labour! Plus theres a few more bits to fix!!!!

Pinto's are so simple there is almost no reason not to work on them yourself (I assume your asking about time for estimating labout costs ?)

easy job so long as you have room to get the camshaft out of the back ........
bulkhead may be in the way if its in the car
