Hi all,
I'm fitting a catch tank to my pinto, I want to try and keep the original filler cap and just have a take off to the tank from the block as I am
fitting bike carbs. I have a burton take off elbow and was wondering if it goes ontop of the fire flap in the block or straight into the block?
I tried with it in the flap and smoke started coming out of the cap?
Any help
Cheers
You will have to remove the valve in the crankcase breather.
It requires the vacuum from the inlet manifold to operate normally.
As you have no vacuum, you have to 'modify' it otherwise the crankcase will pressurise.

Leave the fire trap in the block but remove the valve and spring out the valve part refit the tube part with a pipe to your tank
and sell the Burton part
