Looking at a tubular manifold that loops over and down to a mounting for a turbo.
would it be suitable to cut the turbo flange off and just run it in to a downpipe ?
Would it loose a lot of power compared to a proper 4-1 or 4-2-1? For a standard zetec on 45s btw.
My thoughts would be towards the weight of the turbo hanging on it and cracking it.
Picture of said manifold? Tbh it should work just as well as a normal manifold if designed well.
Why not use the standard zetec manifold or are you after a performance gain?

A turbo manifold is not built for tuned length so will not perform as well as a 4 to 1
May not be as good as the standard Zetec manifold
I would indeed use the std ford offering. I suspect it may be substantially better than many of the aftermarket manifolds, many of which seem
"designed" to look as if they produce power, but I have never seen actual back to back figures posted.
Or why not an st170 manifold?
I have a standard manifold but it looks quite restrictive. the one I'm looking at looks a lot more open. http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=172764&page=1#pid1478779
My bad, I was thinking you wanted to hang a turbo on a four branch.
Of coarse it will work but dont waist money on jenveys/Itb's the other side. Even one with a bigger bore wont flow as well as a 4-1 or a 4-2-1.
on a N/a engine.
Fine if you want a cheap and simple exhaust and are happy.
Its the breathing on a zetec that lifts a standard engine 30bhp on standard

You could always buy a turbo to hang on it...:

If the exhaust is not the best it can be then neither will the power out put.
Its the breathing on a zetec that lifts a standard engine 30bhp on standard. If your happy with a little less to make it easier / cheaper as I have
done with my standard ecu then thats fine. Its how it drives that will be important and not the top number.
your not going to know what the differance is untill you have tried it.
The exhaust does make a massive difference, i got a 10 hp increase just from a collector change.
Why not try
THIS

Why not ask Coozer what he wants for the st170 manifold?
The trouble with either of the premade manifolds above (or any premade one) is the chance of it fitting in the chassis, and coming out at the right angles is very slim. And to get one made is likely to be £400ish. I could make one myself but the chances of getting a good finish and decent performance is also slim. It might just be one of the places I have to spend some cash!
