Burton extended release bearing carrier

I have just purchased one of these and the bearing to use on my type 9 . I have changed to an AP race clutch so need the extra distance this gives you. All is fine except that the std spring clips that hold the carrier onto the release arm don't fit. So at the moment there is no way of securing the carrier to the 2 lugs on the release arm. I have spoken with Burttons and they were a bit vague suggesting that I would need to modify the carrier, which is easier said than done. Has anybody else had this issue please.

Ran with one of those for about 5 years with an AP race clutch. Worried me at first but never had a problem. I have a small spring on the clutch pedal that puts a small amount of pre-load on the cable/bearing all the time, running like this the bearing cannot move since it is trapped between the release arm and the clutch.

Only changed when I stopped competing on the hills and sprints and went back to a road clutch and standard Ford bearing.

Thanks Paul, makes me fell better to hear that it was fine.
