My exhaust manifold runs close to my brake lines and master cylinder so I have de used I need a heat shield of some description. Anyone got recommendations on what to use? I was thinking of something I could shape and fit over the manifold.
I needed to make one for mine to go between the exhaust manifold and the alternator as it was getting 'F' hot!! I made a shield out of some
steel plate I had kicking around and then wrapped it in exhaust wrap. Seems to have done a reasonable job so far.
But as yours is close to the brake system I would be very careful as from what I have seen brake fluid burns a treat when hot
HTH
Two pieces of plate with a gap between, the shinier the better. Thats all you need.
Go to a breakers a get some heat shielding found under the cars where the exhaust runs. Will be near the bulk head or tunnel area.
You cant get better than OEM and its mouldable to. Its kinda corigated Ali sheet.
