Bike Engine Clutches - Hydraulic to Cable
scootz - 11/3/13 at 04:59 PM

I'm looking at making a hand-clutch for the trike, but a hydraulic set-up is proving a bit of a PITA.

A cable would be much easier to incorporate, but the PITA headache can be found at the other end!

How difficult would it be to swap the clutch actuation from hydraulic to cable on a bike engine (at the engine end).

Cheers.

Could you not keep the slave cylinder at the clutch end but then use a small master cylinder, like the ones used for the brakes on a Kart and operate that via a cable?

Sounds interesting! Is that a cable to the clutch slave on the bike engine, or cable to MC? Do you have any pics of the set-up?

Cheers.

It might not be asthetically pleasing for you but, cable is pedal to bike master (including lever), then standard kawasaki hydraulics there after.
