I'm certain it would be possible with a converter plate or custom bellhousing. However, as much as I like the K series I think I'd go with the Mazda engine that bolts straight up to the box for an easier life!

Much easier to use the MX5 engine as well which is a better unit anyway.

The MX5 engine is a very good unit while the K series is cheap and brilliant engine mating it to an Mx5 gearbox will cost both time and cash.
