BCF3 Cam - X flow?
Nickctp - 14/3/13 at 06:38 PM

Hi all,

Mixed bag of feelings on this one, but what is the BCF3 Cam like on a pretty standard Xflow? (mild head work), and running on twin 40s.

Difficult to time in etc?

Cheers

Nick

Not difficult to time but it would probably benefit from a big valve head , decent exhaust etc IMHO

Sorry, Yeah I have A good custom exhaust and 4-2-1 manifold. Head is pretty standard though, just a mild port and polish!

Will this cam cause issues with my setup?

I used one of theese years ago in a 1300 mk1 escort. Idle was a little rough but when it came on cam it was a little beast. With twin carbs i would suspect your idle wull be reasonably smooth. Mine was on a twin choke weber. I'd use one again without having to think too long or hard. Not sure how more modern profiles compare though.

It's what I plan on putting in my 1300 X-Flow.
Got a big valve head, mild porting and going to finally decided to use CBF 600 carbs.
Good spread of power too; 2,500 - 7,000 revs.
