I need to sort the main jets on my zx9r carbs soon. Its on a 2 litre vauxhall ecotec. So I reckon I'm looking at 1.6mm? Somewhere around there?
I can take them out and drill them, but if I cock it up, I'm stuffed.

What can I get as spares? Weber ones fit dont they? If I'm buying, can I buy different sizes cheaply? Tried ebay, nothing much comes up, but I guess I'm doing it wrong

ISTR soldering up carb jets and redrilling if too large was a fairly common practice at one time and only costs pennies

just find the main jet thread size a just type it in on ebay including the size you want 1.6mm is 160 in jet sizes (eg search; 5mm main jet 160) youll get like dellorto jets and makes like that come up like £3 each. drilling jets is okay but i take it youd do it in a small pillar drill or something and its just not as accurate and even 1/50th of a mm out on one of the jets will mean you will have to rebalance them so for the sake of £20 MAX then you should buy new ones then at least youll have the originals as spares

Hi there. I've had a cracking morning, re-spraying my nosecone, wings etc. with a large measure of help from my bodyworking friend, Sean Rowe. So I'm in high spirits. So what if I send you four new #125 jets together with drills of the following sizes... 1.3 1.4 1.5 1.55 1.6 and 1.75
You can use these to experiment without screwing up your existing ones.
I've amassed a good collection of jets, drills etc whilst sorting out my Solex 40's. These take Mikuni type jets, the same as most jap bike carbs. I think you will find that Weber type jets do not fit.
If it works out OK then all I ask is that you put a crisp £5 note in a charity collection box of your choosing.
