Just heard back from RAW on the dyno results for my car now that the Rotrex Supercharger has been fitted.
It made 260bhp on the rollers :-)
Its running a 4AGE 20v silvertop with a standard bottom end, fast road cams and flowed head. The power generated was much bigger than anyone
expected.
They've never run a 4AGE with a standard bottom end above 225bhp and hence are concerned what impact 260 would have on engine longevity.
On RAW's advice we've reduced the boost so it makes a comfortable 240bhp. The rev limiter has also been reduced to 7,500rpm as an added
safety factor. That still gives it 420bhp/tonne
I have the option of fitting forged pistons and rods in future (without needing to lower compression) to get the full fat 260 without having to buy a
bigger supercharger for increased boost.
Looking forward to the weather improving now

Good times, now time to get out and use it in anger. By the way, using 4AGZE rods and pistons will strenthen the bottom end but also lower the CR.
Maybe a cheaper alturnative to the £1K pistons and rods.
I bet it sounds good too. Any videos?

The bottom end is bog standard so the compression is unchanged at 10.5:1 (or so I believe).
I've been advised not to change the compression ratio. RAW can supply forged pistons that will run at this compression and allow me to unlock
the full 260bhp if I decided to go down that route next year.
240bhp will be more than enough for the moment.

I don't know what dyno it was. It was taken by RAW on my behalf as they've been building the engine for me. I have no reason to suspect
the figures are incorrect. Anyone know who RAW use, I guess its in the Hereford/Cheltenham area?
Given how much it cost I hope it was a good one!

Do you have a graph? whats the torque like?
I've not seen the graph yet but will post as soon as I do. With the SC the torque should be much higher and more linear than before.

I believe its a Rotrex C30-74.

Car sounds like it will be fun look forward to seeing some pics.
Bloody good engines, we mapped a stock one (other then jenveys and Omex) ages ago, made loads of power and rev'd for ever. No surprise it made
good power when supercharged.
You have been advised correctly, do not reduce the CR, with careful mapping high CR is not a problem with forced induction.

Sorry, my mistake.
The option of reducing the pulley was discussed to lower boost but in the end the timing was retarded slightly to reduce power. Boost remained the
same.

I'd love a Striker, so much nicer than the Velocity and a much smaller package. Maybe I'll use my car as a doner in a few years
