Hi
Something has been troubling me, I have an R1 turbo kit, when the car had the Standard R1 (non turbo) engine it used to rev up to 11,750rpm now I have
fitted the turbo it will only rev up to around 10,000rpm, the compression ratio has been dropped does anyone know if by lowering the compression ratio
will it affect the maximum engine rpm.
Turbo will not affect the rev limit unless you have an undersized turbo or restrictive exhaust.
Sounds like your fueling is out, have you just blown a carbed engine ? Your fuel pump or float needles may not be up to the job.
Suggest you get it on a rolling road, when I was playing with mine it had issues and went to fast to log.
Regards Mark (just down the road)
