I know I will have to hack away at the ally part of my sump to marry it up to the type 9 box.

Has anyone any photos of the survey that's needed?

Have a look at my build page and the sump Mod here. You only really have to chop the Ali parts away to fit the starter and to give enough ground clearance other than that the Type9/Sierra bell housing I fitted matched up just fine.

I did another one last night. (now got a touch of arc eye or hay fever ) Now done three. This ones been sat full of Paraffin all night and not one drip.

I always chop the whole casting of. The one in the pick is just roughed out and needs cleaning up with the power file It doesn't really make any odds as long as you can get the starter motor mounted and its no lower than the gearbox ect.

Just don't cut half way through and hit it with a hammer, guess how I know.

The sump is the easy bit, pick up pipe is a bit harder.
