Hello everyone,
sorry if I do not speak very well
I have a 1700 kent motor ss prepared
suite has problems the exhaust and carburetor ( return )
I did make controlling the engine in a garage, according to the extent that he took (gas flowing through the casing , valve HS , seat valve guide HS ,
piston segment HS)
my advice it to redo the entire engine (base engine, new piston, cylinder head, ...)
I'm not racing, just ride
I do not know if its worth the repaired
or go on a ford ZETEC
but I intend to keep my carbs
thank you for your help
Hey Ghost_monster,
Completely up to you really on what you want to spend? You can spend a fortune on updating the engine and getting it running and depends on how long
it will take to get done and how quick you want to get it back on the road.
I'm sure you could pick up a used Zetec fairly cheeply in Belgium as you can do here in the UK and there are lots of people on here who could
help you to get the Zetec running and probably alot cheeper than redoing the Kent. Just my opinion though.

What has gone wrong with the Kent engine ?
I have a Zetec and they are a cracking engine for what they cost.

I have fitted a 2 litre Black Top to my single seater to replace the blown Kent, £150, then a few £ for the dry sump system. and Megajolt. I run it on R1 carbs with a Danst Engineering manifold. It worked out a lot cheaper than rebuilding the Kent.....
thank you for your opinionhere I had doubts when the car was returned to the carburetor and exhaust al
I modified a Zetec manifold to fir the single seater race car and originally used the Weber 32/36 dgv 5 a carb and manifold on a Zetec adapter and it
ran brilliantly. I still have the carb and manifold which is jetted for the Zetec. Maybe you could do the same.....I would also point out that the
bolt pattern at bell housing uis the same as Kent and I only had to make new front mounts.....
