diffs
Dose your diff look like these diffs ?
Jacko
Lotus used a variety of axles in the 7. Some were of BMC origin, some Standard Triumph origin and also the Ford Escort axle in later ones. Caterham
used the Morris Marina/Ital axle in the 80's and its is possible one has found its way under your car.
Very unlikely it has a separate diff, very few cars left the factory like that but some have been modified.
Simple check for starters, if the PCD of the wheel studs is 4.25" it should be a Ford, if its 3.75" it should be a BMC or Triumph.
Photo's would be handy.
Paul, I measured the PCD to 4,25" (108) so likely it`s a Ford axle, thanks.
