Hi i am having problems with my indy when i take my foot off the throttle i get a knocking noise
I have removed the engine and have found the gear box mounting rubber to be very sloppy
so my question in has any one made a improved version
I know i can by a westfield one but i would like to make my own

which kind of mount have you got just now - sierra or cortina ?
the cortina one is much stiffer and is also used by westfield and caterham (caterham are stock them and are quite cheap )
its mounting centres are a little smaller than the sierra one though

I had the same problem - unfortunately the Indy chassis is designed for the Seirra mount so you won't fit the Cortina one easily as if it is
boled in at the same level on the horizontal as the Sierra mount the gearbox will be too high. Also, the mountin bolt centres are much smaller.
I eneded up using some spacers [threaded rod joiners iirc] and longer bolts to move it down and then a thick piece of bar to mount the Corting mount
on, with a hole in the middle of it so I could screw up the single bolt that goes into the gearbox.
