Hello chaps,
I have a 2.0 blacktop from an automatic Mondeo sat on the floor of my garage. It is an 'NGB' engine code so was manufactured in May
'98. I have just bought a 1.8 Zetec flywheel that was advertised to be from a MK1 Focus (98-05).
This was recommended as being the best option due to it weighing less that the 2.0 version. My issue is that it doesn't fit........ The holes in
the end of the crank to take the flywheel bolts simply don't line up with those in the flywheel. I have rotated the flywheel through all possible
positions and no luck...
I thought that these were a one size fits all item (apart from the Zetec-SE item)...? Advise please....!!
Cheers,
IanM
I believed that they were interchangeable are you sure it was another blacktop flywheel and not a silvertop one, I thought the only difference was the crank sensor which is longer on an automatic so isnt useable in the conversion
I have a lightened silvertop flywheel on my blacktop....exchange from Dunnell...

Possibly...try it once more just to make sure - from memory, there is only one way to fit it....

Black top, silver top its all good and they even fit the st170 aswell.
Also, the Ngb is the engine code and doesn't show the exact age of the engine.
The ngb means the engine was made for the mondeo may 1998 onwards and is a 130ps 1.8.
The engine age is the next two letters and is part of the engine number.

All zetecs from the beginning to the end have the same crank. All flywheels are interchangeable and only fit one way ot make sure the crank pickups on the back are in the correct position.
