I think the clutch on my ZZR1100 (in a Dax Rush) is slipping - it goes into and out of all the gears fine its just when I accelerate hard in any of the gears the revs seem to increase quicker than the car.....but eventually things catch up so I presume the clutch engages properly. The clutch is new but replaced with standard plates and springs.....has anyone had this and remedied with heavy duty plates and springs? Any other ideas? Oil fine....not overfilled and not using fully syn. although I did replace clutch and oil at the same time but done over 100 miles since then and still not really improved......
You'd be better off with H/D (Barnetts) springs. For Yamaha engines it's usually recommended to stick to genuine plates but don't
know if thats the same for Kwaks.
Did you use bike specific oil? The friction modifiers in car engine oil isn't good for wet clutches.
As above - fit Barnett HD springs.
Also check that the hydraulics are returning correctly - I have seen several bike engined cars where the master cylinder actuating rod was too long or
the seals were deformed and was not allowing the fluid to return.
This gave the symptoms of a slipping clutch.
Crack open the bleed nipple and see if there is any residual pressure in the system.
Mine did the same till I sorted the springs out n changed oil to .....
Can't remember but was bought from a Kawasaki garage
Thanks all.....looks like I'll be buying some HD springs then - hope this solves it!
Will check the hydraulics just in case before hand......I did use bike oil so that should be OK....what grade etc do people use?
