will the 1998 spec 1.8 gti escort engine bolt straight to an mt75 gearbox?

the GTi uses a mt75 box as standard.

That would be a MTX 75 fwd box, not an MT rwd one.

the bolt paterns are the same but you have to sort the spigot bearing and clutch out though
