Has anyone on here built a 2400 s2000. I've sold a couple of standard s2000 cranks to help fund the build as I have a few old s2000 engines that
I've bought as none runners and in bits. I now need some dimensions from the s2000 crank so I can have the new Acura k24 crank machined, flywheel
side is easy, but not sure about front end as I seem to think it may need shortening and the keyway extending. Anyone got any spec on the s2000
standard crank.
I can always dry build it up and work it all out if no luck. Its an on-going project and wont be going in the Kitten for quite some time as Ill have
to alter ecu and need to find out more about that also. Cheers
You've erm.. sold the S2000 crank(s?) you needed to take measurements from.. Genius. .. IF you actually had such.
Foot power pedals are likely appropriate for the Kitten :-)
"Genius" its no big deal, its only the length of the front pulley carrier part of the crank, and to be honest I didn't expect an
answer, as said I can work it out. I probably didn't even have any s2000 cranks ? then why would I say that. I must be loosing it.

Ok this is the end of the s2000 crank that I'm on about replicating with my K24 crank soon to be a s24 crank. I took some pictures before I sold
the s2000 crank. I'm ok with it, as I want to get it right so will sort it out myself as I may get reliable info, but may be a different part
numbers etc. The plan is to evolve the Kitten's handling along with brakes and fire eater system, get it log booked then itb's along with
ecu and then this motor will get popped in. I'm in no panic as I have good reliable standard power at the moment.

I have an extra F20C crank (changed it to a F22C).
Front end is very close to 46mm
Keyway is about 37mm.

Thanks for the info, my front end seems to be 47mm, but the keyway only 30mm. Good news though as I may not need to do anything to it. I have a mate
who can extend the keyway when he skims the flywheel side flush. Did you keep the oil squirters.

Also did you machine the crank big end journal's (not sure if that's spelt right) or take 2mm off each side of the h22 prelude rods
Doing the crank would make the rotating mass quite a bit lighter and keep the rods strong, but it would involve a good bit more work and a re-balance.
As this is an on-going project I'm not in a rush, but have all the parts apart from shells and gaskets. I have planned for a programmable ecu for
this motor, but has anyone tried with stock ecu and sensors. I've spoke to other chaps who have stroked different engines and believe standard
ecu wont like it. If this would run on standard ecu I would be eager to get cracking, but cant face changing all the wiring just yet as my standard

I wired my F20C using an omex 710 ECU. It was pretty easy and I still have all the notes if you ever wanted them. It doesnt use half the sensors that
the stock ECU does either, from memory it uses crank, TPS, Air Temp, coolant temp, and exhaust cam ps. I havent bothered with Lamda feedback (on the
advice of Omex).
I simply removed the connectors off the honda engine loom that would have gone to the ECU and spliced in the Omex loom from there. After I worked out
which wire went to which the actual physical wiring took about 1/2 a day.
The biggest advantage is being able to set the vtec to whatever RPM. Mine is currently set @ 4500, giving a vtec powerband of around 4000 rpm. On the
road the car is very quick and I'm usually shortshifting at about 7000.
On your stroked engine I would definately think you would need an aftermarket ECU as all your fuelling and timing requirements will be totally
different.

is the f22c not a standard item in american s2000's jacko? just a 2.2 litre f series motor?
Thanks for the omex 710 info Dan, I've read somewhere as mine (the one in the Kitten) is ap2 07 throttle by wire it might be better on hondata or something like that. I don't know much about any of all these parts Dan M, apart from what Ive read about my project. K24 crank, h22 rods and pistons although I've got some nipon 87.25 frm compatible pistons because the bore had very light scoring and I had the block honed, but will have to check it all out as they state 11.6:1 comp ratio for the 2.2, but I'm not sure that takes into account the extra swept volume with the 99mm crank as it will be 2.4
the f22c was a 2.2 litre s2000 in america but only for a year or 2. they made identical power and a bit more torque
Just a consideration I know from my old honda days and the S2KI forum, that the Americans use a Acura TSX (Accord) crank with H22 rods and standard
parts with a little bit of mahcining. This is a short artical on the subject:

variables like rods, pistons, pins, head gasket, crank, frm bore or sleeved then itb's and ecu etc.

Yea I know its a lot of work with other things to consider, but have you decided what you want to achieve with power and reliability, would doing an F22 not be better? Or is this more of a case of wanting to do it which is as good a reason as any!?
I just think the 2400 will pull like hell and be good on the hill climb scene, and wanting to do it. Just been out playing this evening though and the
standard s2000 goes well to be fair. posted a video on my blog, it's funny.
